"I'm no longer putting out fires" - Managed IT

MINI-CASE STUDY - July 19th, 2021

What was happening?

  • Our old IT provider wasn’t satisfying our requirements.

  • We were undergoing rapid growth, and needed to have a structured IT plan in place in order to support our expanding business.

  • We were continuously putting out fires, and spending time reacting to IT problems.

  • Nothing flowed and lined up, and our systems felt like they were all over the place.

What action was taken?

  • We met with GTB and discussed our current issues with them.

  • GTB designed a plan that was suitable for us, that gave us a structure for our entire IT system.

  • Security is of paramount importance to us, and GTB ensured that we have secure and updated IT systems.

What did GTB do to solve this?

  • GTB came in, and over time, sorted out our IT systems.

  • Updated security practices - All PCs and the server are now monitored and patched, with real-time Endpoint Security installed.

  • Phones were upgraded to a modern and economical flexible VOIP system.

  • Equipment – New hardware was promptly supplied and set up for us.

  • Microsoft 365 - email, calendars & office products give us the tools we need to get our work done.

  • We know that IT advice and training are available whenever we need it.

  • GTB setup disaster recovery for our server with an offsite backup that is regularly tested.

  • GTB shifted us across to Microsoft 365 Domain.

    • GTB provide support for us, and can make needed improvements to a custom database system, that helps us manage our work and is critical to our business.

The breadth of their experience meant they were even able to offer support for our legacy database system! 

The result was…..

  • We now have a trusted IT supplier who knows us and our systems. 

  •  We now have an IT solution that is functioning in a systematic way, where all parts work together.

  • We feel much more in control, and are no longer having to spend time reacting to IT problems that were causing us stress.

  • We have moved to a proactive approach for managing our IT that is saving us money and time.

  • We know where we are heading with our IT solutions.
